Half-Dome in The Fog

A small pine tree grows along the slope of the Half Dome.

Even in Fog, the views are lovely

The Half Dome is a visible rock formation in the eastern Yosemite Valley.  Perhaps it’s one of the most memorable, and well-recognized views from within the Yosemite National Park (YNP).   Despite a fog that presented itself during some summertime rain, it was my first visit to the park and I felt overwhelmed by the spectacular views.

As I write this on August 29th, 2017, there’s no access to Yosemite via Hwy 41 from Fish Camp, Oakhurst, or Fresno, due to the Railroad Fire. From Oakhurst, use Hwy 49 to Mariposa, then Hwy 140 to Yosemite.
