It’s a Texas cliche. But it is based on reality: one sees many concrete block buildings painted to look like the Texas state flag when one is in Texas.
This is a portion of a commercial automobile garage on Padre Island, Texas. I met the owner as he was departing from the building. He proudly told me he painted this himself. I pointed to my camera and then to the red and white wall and asked, “Con permisso?” He gave me a thumbs up and then ducked into his pickup truck to drive away.
