Extraordinary Textile Art

If you can believe it, this ruffled, crocheted textile art was covering a spare wheel on a jeep parked at the hardware store on South Padre Island.

This barrier island is just outside Corpus Christi, on the Gulf coast of Texas. It’s a laid-back town with just under 3,000 residents and beautiful stretches of sandy beach.
