I noticed this fondly familiar set of subjects painted onto a mural in my first exploration of San Antonio, Texas.

This colorful artwork is downtown across from the Little Patch Garden.  It’s an instantly recognizable homage to surrealist illustrations from popular childrens’ books by Theodor Seuss Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss. From left to right, It’s Thing One and Thing Two, along with One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.

And, of course, further down the mural was painted the iconic antagonist: The Cat in the Hat.
