Today we have a look at two “mated” hot-air balloons enjoyed at the 2016 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. I think the pair are registered to a gent from Bristol, Banes, Great Britain. The first view is of the wife.
Her husband was floating around elsewhere in the sky. Look closely and you’ll see she wears gold stud earrings. Her more obvious adornments are hair braids and a giant bow atop her head. The morning sun was directly behind her.
A few minutes later, I spotted her mate floating around, facing the morning sunshine.
Seeing these two balloons reminded me of a joke told by my mother-in-law, on the occasion of my marriage to her son. It went something like this:
“People ask the secret of my long marriage. It’s easy, I say. Take time to go to a restaurant two times a week: a little candlelight dinner, soft music, and a slow walk home. I go on Tuesdays; He goes Fridays.”
