Imagine this: it’s one mile above sea level, the midday sun is bearing down from on high, the temperature is 97 °F (36°C), and you are standing on a tarmac in between air flight demonstrations at an airshow. Where exactly does one find shade to stay cool for the interim? Under the wing or tail of a parked airplane, of course. At the recent Kirtland Airforce Base airshow, several hundred people had the same idea.
