There is an establishment in Santa Fe that never lets us down. When we are road weary, we land comfortably amid its activity and casual hub-bub, which is kid-friendly. A primal smell of meat being smoked wafts through the air. Some sort of live band is playing. There is ample seasonal fresh beer waiting in the tap room. Best of all, the Southwestern food is excellent; straw hats off to the kitchen staff! It’s the Cowgirl BBQ.
Usually we are seated in an area near the bathroom (it has an infant changing table). The space is filled with cowgirl themed photos and memorabilia. In our last visit, however, we were led to the back outside patio, which held a huge surprise for us: The Kiddie Corral. Dining al Fresco under a shaded cover is one of the lifestyle pleasures in New Mexico. Here, you can get it, AND a playground, too.
And now we also know where the secret parking lot is located.
