Growing up we always drove or flew down to Florida to visit our grandparents over winter break. It’s the little dose of warm weather that helps you survive the North East winter. My family and I are continuing the tradition, only now it’s my parents who are short-term snowbirds.

My goal was to capture an image of the ocean worthy of blowing up for our living room wall. It’s harder than I thought to take a picture of such a big subject because I wasn’t sure where I wanted to focus. Here is the winner from the 2014 visit.
