Singing in the Showers

We humans sing in the shower, why not the birds?

Little Bird Singing In the Showers

After seeing a child off to the morning school bus, I heard a little bird singing in the park. It was resting on the very end of a branch. The rain actually had stopped a short while beforehand. The bird kept on with its merry music making. Of course, as I approached, it flew away.

This image isn’t great for enjoying the bird at close range, but it is a good example of how a telephoto lens will compress elements in the frame to bring them closer to the viewer. The mountain in the distance, with the low lying cloud of precipitation, appears much closer to the tree than was the reality. The lens literally lopped off several miles and pulled it closer. Effects of magnification can be so interesting!
